Yahoo and Gracenote … hey wait this is not any take over !!
According to Reuters, they are collaborating just to help the www community listen good quality music. Now this partnership means good quality music i.e. legal and accurate digital lyrics for all based on subscriptions.
Gracenote (a digital media company) expects $100 million in annual revenues within 10 years as they hope for more subscriptions. Initially 400,000 songs from North American with proper rights are included which will be increased in the future.
Publishers who joined are EMI Music Publishing, Warner/Chappell Music, Bertelsmann AG’s BMG Music Publishing, Vivendi’s Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and online publisher peermusic among others.
